A Pressure Method Field Test
Research has shown that there is a 70% correlation between performing a Pressure Method field test vs performing a full laboratory necropsy. If you test several birds and they have eye worms, you have good reason to believe that you have an infestation.

How to Apply QuailGuard®
To ensure QuailGuard® is used effectively, it is important to follow our recommended application methods and FDA label information listed. Here are detailed instructions and tips for maximizing the benefits of QuailGuard® for your quail population.
Strategic Feeding Stations:
For optimal results, use the Quail Safe Feeder, which has been refined through 8 years of rigorous field studies. These feeders are designed to specifically select for quail, reducing the likelihood of other wildlife consuming the medicated feed.
Key Features
- First FDA-Approved Medicated Feed: Specifically for wild quail in the U.S.
- Effective Against Parasites: Targets eyeworms and cecal worms.
- Research-Backed: Developed by Dr. Ron Kendall with support from quail research organizations.
- High Impact: Proven to improve quail health and reduce disease spread.
Fortified Benefits
- Enhanced Nutrition: Fortified with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.
- High Protein Content: Contains 21% crude protein, over triple that of whole milo.
- Health Improvements: Improves quail immune function and reproductive health.
- Year-Round Feeding: Perfect for supplemental feeding of quail throughout the year.
- Packaging Options: 50lb bags.
Feeder Density:
- The recommended density is one feeder per 200 acres. This density has been shown to effectively treat quail populations while minimizing waste and ensuring consistent feed availability.
- Adjustments can be made based on your specific habitat conditions and budget considerations. For instance, in areas with higher quail densities or varied terrain, you might increase the number of feeders to ensure even distribution and access.
Feeding Schedule:
- Implement two primary 3-week treatment periods: one beginning between March 1st and May 1st and another beginning between August 1st and October 1st. These periods align with critical times in the quail life cycle, ensuring that the birds receive the necessary medication to combat common health issues.
- Year-round supplemental feeding with Quail Safe Fortified Feed is highly recommended. This practice not only promotes overall quail health but also ensures that the birds remain attracted to the feeders, making the treatment periods more effective.
Feeding Directions:
QuailGuard® should be fed for 21 consecutive days to wild quail. No prior withdrawal of feed is necessary. It is FDA recommended that wild quail feed containing SAFE-GUARD® be fed as crumbles. It is not FDA recommended that medicated feed containing fenbendazole be generally broadcast, but rather offered through feeders. Users should ensure that the medicated feed is consistently available during the 21-day treatment period.
By following these guidelines, you can help maintain a healthy quail population on your property. For additional tips and support, feel free to contact our team at info@quailguard.com.
